Introduction
A key part of Code Geass was the initial contract formed by both Lelouch and C.C. For Lelouch must help C.C. grant her wish. But what was C.C.’s wish? This article will break down all we know to answer this question.
I also recently uploaded a video that also goes through this topic you can watch it here.
What is C.C.’s Wish from her contract with Lelouch
So before directly discussing this lets briefly go over how contracts work in Code Geass.
A code user forms a contract when that person grants another Geass or power of the king.
Every contract has different terms and CC to Lelouch is no exception.
We learn in episode 15 that CC’s wish was to die in all worlds including C’s world.
CC believes that without death there is no life and things need to have boundaries.
“Without death, all we have are random events accumulation you can’t go that life” CC
If CC is immortal how could Lelouch ever grant her this wish?
Well according to CC once a Geass user’s power reaches the last stage that person is now equal to the one who granted the power.
So CC’s plan was for Lelouch to be the one to has Geass that would reach the next stage and allow him to take her code.
We see this done with both VV and the nun in the CC’s flashbacks.
Charles took VV’s code which rendered him mortal and caused the wounds to be fatal.
With the nun, she simply transferred her code to CC when the Geass power reached the final stage but the nun killed herself.
CC also wanted to help Lelouch defeat Charles by giving him her code.
This would put them on equal footing and give Lelouch the ability to stop him.

What is C.C.’s Actual Wish?
To die was not C.C. real wish it was merely a byproduct of having become immortal.
Lelouch confirms after he relives her memories, and convinced her to not die.
He does this by revealing that he knows what her true wish is.
I know what it was now I understand what your Geass was and I know your true wish. Lelouch
It is not directly stated we can infer that C.C.’s wish was to loved and to have friends.
C.C.’s Geass power was to make other people love her which is something that a slave girl never experiences.
Through Lelouch, we learn that Geass can manifest in a form that fulfills the user goals.
Thus I believe the same holds true for C.C. in that she wanted others to love her.
When C.C. sealed her memories and returned to a slave she explains the idea of a friend.
The sad part is that it is all theoretical because she has never had one.
C.C. never came across as someone who wanted to die. In fact the longer she stayed with Lelouch the more reason she had to live.
With all in this mind here is my theory on why she really wanted to die.
C.C. is an immortal witch who has always been on the receiving end of hate and harm in her life.
We see this in flashbacks of her life and notice how we never see anytime where C.C. is actually happy.
So I am convinced that C.C. wanted to die to end the suffering and as a way to concede that no one will ever love her.
No one loved her as a slave, or with her Geass and especially as an immortal witch.
So I’m convinced that really if anyone ever showed her kindness she would have never wanted to die in the first place.
This is why she interfered with Charles at the last minute to help Lelouch because dying was never her wish.
C.C. wanted friendship and people to genuinely love her.

Final Thoughts
In the beginning, C.C. was only using Lelouch to fulfill her “wish” to die.
But as the two worked together she started to realize that her real wish was being granted all along.
Through Lelouch, C.C. gained friends and posssibly a lover.
This is what makes the ending of the movie Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection so satisfying.
C.C. finally gets her true wish granted when Lelouch confesses his genuine love for her.

This will be my first article on the favorite quotes from different characters in Code Geass. I am going to kick this party off with Kallen Kozuki quotes.

I totally agree, at first, CC wanted to die in order to end her “life” of loneliness and suffering. She’s been abused, tortured and everytime she like someone he end up dying while she doesn’t.
However, CC develop feelings towards Lelouch and their relationship evolve to a point where Lelouch convince her to live.
Her wish slowly changed as she felt in love. Everything would be ok, as long as Lelouch was with her. And they will be, immortal, living together. No event will ever break them up as they are the only two with immortality. Even if they are tired of their lives, they will always come back together, because they are the only ones who can bring a light to each other. The movie end on the perspective of eternal love … Code Geass is by far my favourite anime and the last movie sublimed it.
