15 of My Favorite C.C. Quotes That Created Amazing Moments in Code Geass

The Quote:

“You Have to prevail over your own past and over the outcome of your action”. C.C. Stage 25″

When this happens: This occurs right before C.C. drops off Lelouch before facing Jeremiah in the Seigfried. She also kisses him right after this quote.

Why I like this Quote: It’s a nice moment between the two characters. C.C. is expressing how Lelouch needs to prevail showing that his goals are just as important as her own.

The Quote:

“Well then can you show your appreciation? Say it again like you did before. Just this once with tenderness like you treasure it in your heart”C.C. Stage 11

When this happens: This occurs in Stage 11 in a cave. Lelouch brought C.C. there to take care of her injuries. While doing this he heard C.C.’s say her name while she was sleeping. Lelouch thanked her for saving him. This leads up to this request.

Why I like this Quote: Because this is the first time that C.C. really shows some emotion. We get a sense of her deeper feelings. She’s struggling with her identity as a human and an immortal witch. Lelouch brings her humanity back into her life by using her real name. So, C.C. really appreciated this and asked him to say it again.

The Quote:

“We have our contract. I promise to stay with you to the very end. “

C.C. Stage 23

When this happens: After Lelouch retreats to a private room from announcing the United States of Japan, Nunnally calls him. Nunnally wanted to know if she could see Euphy again. Lelouch breaks down because it hit him that Euphy is really gone. He sits down and is clearly upset.

Why I like this Quote: C.C. hugs Lelouch as she says this. She comforts Lelouch and assures him that she will be with him until the end. It’s one of the first signs in the series that C.C. might have started to develop feelings for him. In general, this is one of the most emotional scenes in the series and C.C.’s quote is one of the reasons why.

The Quote:

“I have been here before ready to quit. Desperate hoping against hope for the tiniest speck of light. Even so, I never let myself give in. I clung to the idea that somehow I would find a way to bring you back. And now here you are, just not the you I wanted. Where’s your ego, your arrogance? Where’s the Lelouch who doesn’t know the meaning of giving up? I am sorry, I didn’t, I shouldn’t have said that. If you want to quit…quit “

C.C. Lelouch of the Re;surrection

When this happens: When Lelouch is backed against wall when Shamna’s Geass ruins his plans, he initially gives up. Then C.C. gives him this pep talk to get him to fight back.

Why I like this Quote: Throughout Lelouch of the Re;surrection Lelouch seems off in the film and I think that’s what C.C. meant by not the you that I wanted. So, she needed to wake him up for a second time. This quote reminds the audience why we love Lelouch’s character. And it emphasizes how hard C.C. worked to make this happen. I love the message that she never gave up to bring him back and he shouldn’t give up now.

The Quote:

“I made reason to fight, a promise. But I believe that the time has finally arrived for me to stop accumulating experiences and start living.”

C.C. Turn 24

When this happens: During her fight against Kallen in the Lancelot Frontier.

Why I like this Quote: This quote demonstrates how C.C. changed as a result of Lelouch entering her life. Before C.C. never considered her existence as actually living since she can’t die. It was only due to Lelouch that she realized that’s just wordplay and you should be happy and live.

C.C. wanted to fulfill her promise to Lelouch. And through that, she decided to start living and stop accumulating experiences. It’s of the strongest scenes of character growth for C.C.

The Quote:

“Lelouch don’t you hate me for cheating you out of your own life. By giving you your Geass I affected your life and drastically changed your fate.”

C.C. Turn 24

When this happens: This is during Lelouch and C.C.’s last conversation in the series. It takes place right before Lelouch heads off to take the Damocleus from Schneizel.

Why I like this Quote: I have stated in my Lelouch and C.C. relationship video/ article that there was a lot going on in this scene.

Lelouch had called C.C. a monster for giving people Geass in Stage 15. So, C.C. this whole time still believed that Lelouch hated her. So, what a better time to learn the truth than at the last time these characters talk.

She was so relieved when Lelouch assured her that she in fact did not ruin his life. It was his own choices that led up to this moment. A strong character moment for Lelouch and C.C which is why I love C.C.’s quote here.

The Quote:

” All I have left are my memories from when I was a witch.
Other than that, I don’t even know if I was ever human to begin with.
Every person who has ever hated me and each and everyone that has showed me any kindness are gone forever; they’ve vanished into the current of time.
Always existing with the endless flow of eternity, I am utterly alone.”

C.C. Stage 25

When this happens: This occurs when Lelouch and C.C. are caught in the Geass trap on Kamine Island.

Why I like this Quote: C.C. explains to Lelouch why she’s distant and cold to others. She’s alone and always will be since everyone she loves has died. This quote gives a perfect insight into C.C.’s mind. We begin to understand the struggles of being immortal. I like when Lelouch tells her that she’s never alone. It was just what she needed to hear.

The Quote:

“Lelouch, do you know why snow is white? Snow is white because it’s forgotten what color it’s supposed to be.”

C.C. Stage 10

When this happens: While Lelouch and C.C. talk outside the JFL’s lookout at Narita.

Why I like this Quote: At first glance, this seems like a simple quote but if dig deeper there’s a lot going on here.
White is the absence of all colors just like C.C. is the absence of elements of human. This because she forgot what it means to be human.
This will later be discussed in the cave in Stage 11. If you wanted one quote to explain the dilemma that C.C. is going through this is it.

The Quote:

“That mask is heavier than it looks. The wearer bears a fate not just of the Japanese people but that of the world”

C.C. Turn 7

When this happens: C.C. talks to Kallen in the sub as Kallen holds Zero’s helmet.

Why I like this Quote: This quote has two meetings. The first which is the mask literally is quite heavy. This might be the case considering it’s more than just a simple helmet.

The second is the emotional weight. Zero states at the end of R1 that he holds the world in his hand. Any anyone who dons the Zero mask is in the same position. This is foreshadowing later on when Suzaku takes on the mantel of Zero.

The Quote:

“Bleeding feels even better when it’s cold. It feels warm on your outside. It stings a bit. But only on the outside. And that’s always better than hurt on your inside. It’s just… Any kind of warmth helps make you try to keep going.”

C.C. Turn 16

When this happens: This when Lelouch in his rage attacks C.C. and cuts her on the plate she was holding.

Why I like this Quote: We learned earlier on through two flashbacks that C.C.’s past was awful. This quote from her really demonstrates how C.C. was more abused emotionally than physically. She literally would prefer to be hurt from the outside over the inside. It really shows just how damaged she was one of the saddest parts in Code Geass.

The Quote:

“I said that Geass was the power of the king which would condemn you to a life of solitude. I think maybe that’s not quite correct. Right, Lelouch?”

C.C. Turn Last Turn Re;

When this happens: When C.C. is riding in the carriage at the end of R2.

Why I like this Quote: It nicely ends the series with the same words that started it that were terms of the contract. C.C. puts a spin on it and realized the that power of the king never condemned Lelouch to a life of solitude. She was also talking about herself since Lelouch helped C.C. no longer feel alone. C.C. is obviously upset that Lelouch is dead but is grateful for all that he did for her.

The Quote:

“If you have someone you don’t want to lose, you should keep them at a distance.”

C.C. Stage 14

When this happens: On the train when Lelouch and C.C. head off to find Shirley.

Why I like this Quote: C.C. is teaching Lelouch an important lesson about life. And when you think of Lelouch’s actions later on he really internalizes it. Beyond the story itself, there’s something to be learned from this piece of advice.

The Quote:

“Without death, all we have are random events, accumulation you can’t call that life”

C.C. Turn 15”

When this happens: This is occurring when C.C. explains to Lelouch why she wants to die while at the Sword of Akasha.

Why I like this Quote: This was an important part of the story we finally learned what the terms of her contract were. From everything we have learned about C.C. through both the flashbacks and from her conversation with Lelouch, she clearly has no will to go on.
And this demonstrates her perspective on life. C.C. does not consider her existence even living. What I find interesting is that even normal humans go through this. Even Lelouch explains this same idea to C.C. in stage 7 when C.C. threatened to shoot his legs. This is a simple quote but there’s so much to dissect.

C.C. Turn 24

When this happens: This is part of Lelouch and C.C.’s final conversation together before Lelouch heads off to stop Schneizel in the Damocles.

Why I like this Quote: People in C.C’s past treated her like garbage. So, she was both happy and surprised that Lelouch showed her genuine kindness.

I enjoyed the quote because I could just feel C.C.’s happiness when she says this.

I wish Kallen never broke this scene up because I would have liked to have seen C.C. and Lelouch embrace.

The Quote:

“If I grant you power, could you go on? I propose a deal. In exchange for this power, you must agree to make my one wish come true. Accept this contract and you accept its conditions, while living in the world of humans, you will live unlike any other. A different providence, a different time, a different life. The power of the king will condemn you to a life of solitude. Are you prepared for this?”

C.C. Stage 1

When this happens: While C.C. communicates to Lelouch in his mind right after she was shot.

Why I like this Quote: This quote is the start of everything. This contract changes Lelouch’s life and puts him on the path to becoming Zero. I love the foreshadowing here and how C.C. describes being different than others with a different providence, different time, and a different life. It really emphasizes what having Geass will do to you.
I think ending this list of quotes with the C.C. quote that started it all seemed appropriate.
